A deep black studio glaze with a glossy, atmospheric finish. Oil Spot Black can produce subtle speckling, depth and variation across the surface, with richer effects where the glaze pools or catches texture.
It also creates spectacular and sometimes surprising effects when layered under other glazes, particularly Copper Skies, where it can add depth, movement and dramatic surface variation.
Best suited to stoneware fired from cone 6–8. Results will vary depending on clay body, thickness of application, firing schedule, layering and kiln position.
Supplied in a 500ml pot, ready for studio use. Stir well before applying.
